Working as an Animal Cruelty Investigator
I have over a decade of experience in Animal Cruelty Investigations, where I've dealt with cases of the worst abuse, neglect, puppy mills, and hoarding you can ever imagine. I have unfortunately seen the worst of the absolute worst. As the lead investigator in hundreds of cases, I've witnessed firsthand the challenges animals face in these situations. It's important to educate people about the difference between a "puppy mill" and a "backyard breeder" to help raise awareness about the harsh realities.
What is a Puppy Mill?
A "puppy mill" is a facility that prioritizes profit over the well-being of dogs. These places overcrowd dogs in unsanitary conditions, providing little to no vet care, exercise, or socialization. Dogs are kept in small, raised wire cages, some never seeing the sun or a breath of fresh air. Puppies from puppy mills often suffer from serious health problems, including congenital defects, parasites, and diseases. These puppies lack proper socialization, proper care and love.
What is a Backyard Breeder?
A "backyard breeder," on the other hand, is someone who breeds dogs without the proper knowledge or resources to raise healthy puppies. These breeders often lack an understanding of genetics and breeding practices, which can result in puppies with health issues. The dogs are often kept in poor conditions, with inadequate food, shelter, and veterinary care. These breeders are usually have a few litters and then ditch their families, leaving them with no support. Their puppies usually come with an upfront cheaper price tag, but then a life time of vet bills.
Being an Honest, Ethical Breeder
After seeing a range of puppy mills and backyard breeders, I felt a desire in me to change the tide. I wanted to breed dogs in a way that started them off right, in every way possible. Before the puppies are ever conceived, they are carefully planned. Starting with their parents vetted for health, mentally and physical, cleared of any DNA abnormalities and deep consideration of the proper cross. I wanted the mothers to have healthy pregnancies where they are supported nutritionally, having an enriching time, where they're comfortable and relaxed.
Then I wanted to raise healthy puppies, not just in their health being clear of worms–that's basic stuff–but more importantly, I want them to feel loved and taken care of. I want them to see people and think, "People are amazing, I love being around people!" Their experience with people starts with me, every time I check in on my puppies, that's their understanding of people as a whole, so it has to be good, it has to build trust, and it has to give them the foundation of what life should be like.
I don't take this responsibility lightly. I've seen what happens to dogs, how they suffer their whole lives, when they get a rough start. I don't want that for my pups and I don't want that for you. I've seen the best and worst and I'm determined to produce the best.

I trained with a natural disaster response team and I've been personally involved in search and rescue efforts, including during Hurricane Florence—one of the most impactful missions. I've been interviewed by national and international news outlets, including the Weather Channel, which even aired a segment on one of our rescues, involving a dog named Sophie!
We Love ALL the Colors
We’ve developed a deep love for all Dalmatians, not just the traditional black-spotted ones, but also those in rare colors. We have black, liver, lemon, orange, black tri, liver tri, and even sable-spotted Dalmatians. Dalmatians truly come in a beautiful range of colors. Above all, we prioritize health and temperament in our breeding program, before color or coat length.
